Je vais aller à Paris!

It's official, I am going to Paris next semester to study abroad! I cannot believe it is actually happening. And so soon! This has been something I've wanted to do ever since I can remember. I'd like to think that Madeline gave me my love, at a young age, for everything French.

Living is Paris is going to be an amazing experience. And I think it's exactly what I need to overcome l'ennui I've been feeling in lately. I'm getting tired of Los Angeles. I've always known the dynamics of the people here aren't really my style, and I'm coming to realize that more. True, the entire city isn't about Hollywood and superficiality, but at the same time it's more present than other cities. And while I enjoy USC very much, this semester hasn't been as inspiring, at least course wise. Maybe because I'm not taking an art history course, or maybe because I'm even more unsure of what I want to do with my life.

I hope Paris will give me a new perspective on life and myself. I know it will be extremely challenging to adapt to a new culture but at the same time I expect that it will be endlessly rewarding.
